Check and see if a relay from the auto parts store will work, much cheaper. Rod
 

Thanks for all of your assistance. I found the problem. It is the flasher/turn signal relay....at $120.00 I will have my baby back onthe road this weekend!

I had the same thing with my 1985 xv700.   It ended up being a blown fuse.   The 
fuse blew because of poor contact with one of the fuse contacts.   If I remember 
right,  it was the upper left fuse and fuse holder.  This is behind the front 
cover .  The one that sits just below the speedo and tach pods.
