Judy- sorry nobody got back to you sooner. After looking at the picture and comparing it with the passenger backrest that Yamaha's shows as stock for the XV1100 (must have been optional for XV750) the Mapam item doesn't seem any higher than what's original on my '98 XV1100. Don't know if that helps, but that's all I can guess from the pictures. HTH.
