I bought a Garmin 60CX at Cabella's. They're cheaper at Amazon but Cabella's
will warranty them for 5 years even if you lose the receipt. It doesn't talk
but has a good screen display to show me what's ahead. Usually it's in my
backpack and I pull it out after we've travelled new roads and need to
figure out where we are and where the nearest gas is. However, when I escort
bicycles and they are making turns ever other block or so to avoid heavy
traffic I used it on the handlebars to figure out where I'm supposed to turn
next.

I won't try to do any programming or rerouting with it while I'm moving on
the bike, but it's easy enough to 'page' thru the screens for info on the
route I've already programmed into it. And the tracking feature is handy
too.

I'll be surfing for the 'minerallac' pipe clamp tomorrow, but what do you
think about vibration, Rod? How delicate are these inventions?
