"I really appreciate the notes about my trying to find a sissy bar. I know
about '93+ models, but nothing about '80s Viragos. Will a tall sissy bar
from an 83 Virago fit on a 93-95 Virago? From the pictures I've seen,
they're not the same. My sissy bars look like an extension over the
little "glove box" in the back, where the older ones look like a solid
frame with the grab bar. "

I always thought you could divide Viragos up into two basic generations,
'83 and older vs '84 and newer. There are some variants of the 1st gens,
on which I am no expert. Of the 2nd gens there are some differences,
mostly limited to '84-85. '86 and up are substantially all the same. Of
course there is the 700/750 model and the 1100 model, but even they aren't
much different. 1100's, as you know, had a mid-sized sissy bar while 750's
had the grab handle. I've heard that any 1100 sissy bar will bolt to any
86+ 750. All that being said, I don't understand why the bar you found
online is listed for 92+. I would bet it would fit any 86+.
