When I got my '93 XV750  72,000 miles ago it backfired.... it still does . . . it doesn't seem to have caused any mechanical problems because that bike still runs like new (other than the backfiring upon decel).    A couple of months ago I got another (I now own 3)   '95 XV750.    It backfires exactly the same as it's older brother --  I've just figured that this is what they do and kinda like me -- my backfiring is a good thing!     :-)

I've never tried to cure these problems for my bikes or myself, and life is good!
