Maybe the problem is that useless rat nest of vacuum tubes under the
left cover? I'm having similar issues on my '85 xv1000 as well, and
am having fantasies about doing a little surgery on the tacked-on
emissions helper.
Also, kind of related: Anybody know what the settings are *supposed*
to be, (i.e. factory settings) on the pilot jets on those carbs? I've
only been able to find "factory set, not adjustable" in the references
I have.
