Guess that's why I didn't resist too much when my wife "made" me buy the Virago. ;^)
Had enough fun with the quick, fun bikes years ago, and hadn't really planned on gettin' back into riding. Our daughter was grown and off in the USNavy and I thought that was a pretty good accomplishment, and I'm almost smart enough now not to hurt myself on a bike.
And if the shoulder never gets well enough for me to feel comfortable enough on the 1100, maybe I'll just have to get a little 250. Might even make me a better rider, having to rely more on the handling than just the "whoopee" feeling you get from the go-handle with the 1100.
I just didn't have any idea what a great bike I was getting when I bought the Virago. My neighbor used to work for a dealer, putting together Viragos for sale. He's been riding Hondas for years, and claims that with the commute he had for years, that when he and his wife figured that his 2 750 Nighthawks got about 70% of their miles at speeds of 80mph or better and they held up so well, he'd never ride anything but Red again. He how has a nice 750 Shadow, but when I let him take the XV1100 out for a spin he came back with the biggest grin I've ever seen on his face. Said he'd forgotten that Viragos are the best-handling, most comfortable cruisers he's ever ridden.
We're a bunch of lucky folks to have these bikes.

Well, take care of yourself. But you just never know do you? Life is
dangerous, expecially if you're having fun.
