I don't think you need to completely tear them down, just get them off so you can tip them upside down to drain, then refill, right? This reminds me, the first few years I had the 1100 I did, what was it, 4 fork seal jobs in 2 seasons? finally took the time to polish out an almost imperceptible nick in the tube, no problems since. PS, I snuck a ride in today, was coldest day in 7 years a few days back, about 41 today, felt like high summer, back to reality for a few weeks yet.
Gust, I hear it was unbelievably cold over by you. How do you stand it?

Stayed with the stock size, whatever it was. When Larry gave me back my parts I couldn't believe how long the front springs are! If I had tried to change them myself those puppies would have shot off and ended up the next block over from my driveway! We also discovered that there's no drain hole for the oil up front so they had to dismantle the forks completely. I had checked the archives and found where it's possible to drill holes but then you have to take the forks apart anyway to make sure you didn't leave any shavings in them. Oh, well. It's done and I can't wait to try it out! (But I'm NOT complaining about the drizzle and rain - we need it down here!)

Thought about getting shorter on the left side so she wouldn't lean so far right when I take my hands off the grips. I still wonder if it's because she went down on the right side and slid for quite a ways. I'll never know till I ride to the equator and try it there!

So, wa, did you go with the stock length springs in the front?

How about the shocks? Stock length, shorter, longer, or what? Short on the left and long on the right, or vice versa?
