I’m looking for info on the Fuel Pump Controller.
My fuel pump controller doesn't cycle my fuel pump after the low gas
warning light comes on. The Reserve swicth is ok. I've ohmed the
controller out according to the "Clymers" manual, it failed all but one of the
ohmmeter checks. Bike runs fine otherwise. I've been living
with it this way since I bought my '85 XV1000 in '03.
I'm wanting to fix the controller (to save $$$). I'm a electronic tech by
trade and have all the equipment. I want to know what is inside the "black
box" before I crack it open. Has anyone ever opened one up. I'd like
a schematic of one. I suspect it has relay and/or a timing circuit.
I’m a bit apprehensive to crack it open since the bike runs…I’m sure I can fix
the problem.
