Man, this could get really nasty.
If they went into a busy HD dealership and looked at records, does that mean that if they put on pipes one day, that's one violation ($10K) and re-jetting the same bike the next day is another fine, then dyno-ing and more jet work later brings the tab for just one bike up to 30 grand?
Times how many bikes over how many years? And I'd guess that every 883-to-1200 conversion might count as illegal.
And that's just the shops. What if you've done the work yourself? My guess is that we'd be showing a national budget surplus in just a couple of years. ;-)

I've been reading these articles too, (yes American Iron Mag)... they have been discussing this over the last three issues... the magazine guys seem to be a bit afraid too and are urging all shop owners that install custom parts to speak up before it is too late.  And yes,,, the fine is $10K per day per incident per the articles I've read.
