Subject : RE: [Virago] Roadliner cool
I could not find my old report so I have to recreate it. At the Long
Beach Moto Show I took a test drive on the Stratoliner
(Road liner with windshield) Observations: the engine was powerful the
ride was smooth but the ergonomics were bad. It felt like you were
sitting on top of the bike and the handlebars were too far away. The
other rider was over 6' and had the same comment at the stop light. We
got stopped at a light and did a quick start and the bikes power was
impressive, the shifting was sloppy the handling was odd ( neither one
of us could put our finger on the problem we both settled for odd.
Engine got 10 the bike got a 4. Go try one and see what you think. I
will keep my Virago as the second bike and the Venture for trips.
Straight line the Roadliner will be faster but I will run the wheels off
it on the roads I like to ride; not enough straits to use the extra
power. I think I could out run the Roadliner two up on the Venture on
the curvy roads. Rod
Ps if any one wants to buy one I will be willing to put my observations
to the test.
