I agree, they are due some $$ for the design, but still, what is there in parts in that kit? $500? (I really don't know, extended fork tubes (your choice of length), chrome top & bottom trees, chrome bottom adapter, steel braided brake line, speedo cable extension if applicable and a spacer kit)
so $1200 for the design and support? I guess it's whatever the market will bear. Sure would be cool to do a project like that though, would have to do the whole bike though, do something to the rear, new bars, and the rest the of the front, instruments, headlight, paint, new seat, list gets long quick. Not going to happen over here.

Still, the webpage talks about how the triple tree has been somehow re-engineered in such a way that the handling isn't much different than a regular bike. Supposedly the handling and safety won't be adversely affected by chopping it out like that. So you'd be paying for the engineering design, and not just a chopped out weld&chrome job.
Add some long black leather streamers from the handlebars and for $1600 you'll be in chick heaven (yeah right!). Ready for a starring part in the movie "Teenage Nymphos in a Chopper Hell." Heh!

Seems a tad pricey though for the triple tree, upper fork tubes and some hardware.
