You're probably right about the weathering.  I never thought of it that
way.  One more reason to only ride when the weather's perfect.  Oh,
wait, I don't really need one more reason.

Regarding the scuff in the seat, it wasn't there before the accident,
and it is there now.  It's a place next to the tank where the vinyl has
been rubbed off, and the cloth backing is showing.  It's small, about
1/8" wide by 3/4" long.  It had to have been done by me while riding
the bike on it's side for 120 feet along tha asphalt.

P.S. - When you challanged Doc to the one-day 1000-mile ride to 
San Fran and back on the other list, I fainted.
