I have a Mustang for sale. It pushes me just a bit to far forward.
There is a tear on the bottom edge of the seat. Not real noticable
when installed.
I'll send ya pics if interested.

Subject: [Virago] Seat woes
Well, the Corbin I got off a wreck a few years ago for $50 is
falling apart. Seams are breaking apart from vinyl degradation
(the diamond pattern in the middle of the seat is rapidly
separating). A while back I thought it was leather and treated
it as such (Neatsfoot oil and beeswax) but soon learning it
actually vinyl. I just came from a upholstery guy who said vinyl
breaks down and while my use of neatsfoot and stuff probably
didn't hurt it too bad, it didn't help either. He said you
should use something like Armorall or even Fantastic occasionally
to help the vinyl retain it's oils but even then, in time the
vinyl will harden up (he tapped on the seat to illustrate the
almost plasticy sound) and it's game over. He'll recover for
$250 which is too much as at that rate I'd rather have my first
choice (a Mustang) for around $300.
Oh well. Anyone have a Mustang they want to sell cheap?
BTW if you do have leather and want to use neatsfoot, I was told
here a while back to avoid the compounds as that is hard on the
stitching. Not sure if that is what effected my seat or not as
it looks more like the vinyl is just falling apart as opposed to
the actual stitches.
I'll probably hit it again with Liquid Vinyl Repair but that
doesn't hold things together too well.
