Subject : [Virago] Lemming Run

I am posting the following summer plans in hopes of gaining
suggestions of things to see and do along the way from people who
live there - and perhaps even meet a few people themselves.

Suggestions appreciated.

lem•ming (l m ng) n.

Any of various small, thickset rodents, especially of the genus
Lemmus, inhabiting northern regions and known for periodic mass
migrations that sometimes end in drowning.

With the New Year Almost upon us it appears time to start to begin
to get ready to continue to further discuss developing travel plans
which have been percolating since the end of last riding season,
although in tropical Wisconsin riding season never ends. Such
percolation of ideas has resulted in the development of "The Lemming
Run", with an easy to follow concept. To wit, simply, "Drive to the
edge of the world, or continent as the case may be and jump off."

Along the way we visit the famous RDV, in Wiekert, PA, meet the
infamous alarm clock, aka, rooster, and be joined by another
traveling companion. Once RDV closes its gates for another year the
three of us (so far), will head to Brandon, VT where while be joined
by my brother and sister-in-law in their truck.

Traveling onward to the Bay of Fundy

we will have the opportunity to ride the tidal bore

Having dried off, the troupe will proceed to the Port of Sidney and
embark upon a 14 hour North Atlantic voyage from Nova Scotia to
Newfoundland, ever alert for icebergs, enemy U-Boats and Titanic
survivors. This will be the first of four ocean voyages. Arriving in
Newfoundland the parade will proceed to St. John's, which is the
easternmost point of the North American Continent and jump in the
lake, or ocean, as it were. Here we will receive "guidance" from an
internet Virago friend that I have wanted to visit for
several years. Hopefully, Ed is still there. (Hint, hint - will even
bring Sea Foam)

Having once again dried off, the next stop will be Labrador, via to
and from sea voyages, so one may ride the 35 or 40 miles of paved
road in order to be able to say BTDT. This will also put us as far
away from home as we can get so the rest of the trip, back through
Nova Scotia, around the Gaspe' Peninsula and making a right turn
around Quebec will find the remainder of the travels to be down hill
all the way.

Throughout the excursion we may covertly explore budamy's , Cajun
and Sheldon's, French/Eskimo background, relatives, antecedents and
skeletons in closets.

Anyone wanna meet for coffee anywhere or go as a part of a SMALL,
INFORMAL group? Actually I think several small informal groups of 4
to 6 rigs each would tend to make sidecars, especially those pulled
by a Virago, quite well known
throughout the Maratimes, so would be happy to share traveling info
with others.

SKUNK 0001, aka, Gust, who can identify with small, thickset rodents
and is looking forward to lobster, even at McDonald's.
