I was able to get out last Friday. About 40 and relatively dry. I was glad was to get one in in December in Michigan, been a rough winter so far here, cold (not as bad as Wisconsin, Lake Michigan tends to warm the air a bit as it comes over the water, but the downside is it picks up moisture and snows like mad). Maybe the rest il'be milder, I hope so, I'm gettting to the point of hating winter with a passion. Al, I'm on my way.......

Point well made Chip. I shouldn't use Gust as a standard to measure by. I live in Wisconsin and stop riding once it snowed. No plans to ride again
until rain has washed away all the salt.

Yep - whatever Gust can do, we ought to be able to do also.. Heh!

Like, driving in -250F weather in the Wisconsin wintertime, and riding
our highly polished Virago 750's ACROSS a frozen lake without any
special equipment except a thick pair of socks and leather chaps..

Yep......

What is the maintenance schedule for greasing the rear wheel splines
and drive shaft splines for my '92 750? How difficult would it be for
a novice to do? What grease do you use? I recall something about Gust
posting that he removed his rear wheel. If he can do that, I sure
should be able to also.
