Most shields just have a "sleeve" welded to the back side through which
a simple hose clamp passes, this sleeve also serves as a stand-off
creating an 1/8th inch or so space between pipe and shield. This flame
shield has one long sleeve thingy so you can put your clamps anywhere
along the length of it, which is nice so you can work around stuff.

How did the shield you bought attach? I was thinking of making one and
planned to weld a small block on the back and use a radiator clamp to
secure
it but my friend wanted me to cut additional material, make a tab, that
would be bent back for a standoff, then around the pipe, and finally
out
with a couple holes for a bolt. He way sounds prettier but the bends
would
be pretty tricky for me.
