That caught my eye too. These are both pretty wild leaps of intuition. I
wonder what we are seeing is raw leftover fuel burning when it gets close
enough to the end of the pipe to find additional air. Another (pretty
remote) possibility is that if he runs it a lot of the time at the same RPM
and there is some sort of standing wave pattern getting etched on the pipes.
I wonder how blue it got just outside the exhaust port?
