Here in Texas I've had both. At one place I had to show the guy what stuff
he should be checking and he certainly DIDN'T ride the bike.
Lately I drop by my local yammer dealer. The most they ride it is from the
parking lot into the garage but if I'm to trust anyone to giving the bike a
test, it'd be the people that would be replacing it if something went wrong
while their guy was on it.
But five minutes does seem a bit long. Seems they could check the brakes
with a few feet, & blinkers etc. while she's sitting still.
I agree, I think he got the Virago fever.
