Go ahead, John, cheat a little bit. Last time I wrecked my back I wasn't supposed to ride for awhile. I figured, what the heck in addition to the 1100 I also have the SR250 and as soon as I could halfway function without pain pills I was okay to ride the little one. 20 year old suspension wasn't the ideal thing for my back and I figured what the heck, if I can manage the little single the XV doesn't even weigh twice as much and the suspension is sooooooo much nicer. Just did my best to avoid dropping it.
Getting back to weight and tires, etc., I did a little experiment. Today coming up the Harts Mill Grade with Jeanette on the back I couldn't get above about 96mph, whereas yesterday, by myself I got it up to 102. As a guy who has been married for 31 years I know that the ONLY possible explanation for the difference in performance is that when she's on I bike I must weigh more. <grin>

I started driving last week but I still can't lift anything over 8# until the
sternum heals, for another week and I figure that balancing the VIAGRO will
involve more than 8#, but next weekend I plan on cheating and riding back up to
Charlotte. I left my brand new partial dentures up there by mistake and I
have a dental appointment next week, so I have to have them, after I lost all of
the weight they don't fit correctly anymore, so I quit using them and just
GUMMED my food the best I could with the remaining teeth that are still
mine...............it sure is an interesting life being an old fart!
I'm counting the days until I can ride.
