Hmmm, probably not.  However, it is theoretically possible.  Are they the
same displacement?  There are either two or four wires coming from the
pickups to the TCI.  They come out of the LH case cover toward the top rear
and are suspect at this point.

As previously discussed, this is your shift pattern.  My 1100 says the same
thing.



"Which relays will cut off the spark?"

Anything that kills the engine while it is running, like putting the
kickstand down while in gear.  The interlock system is very complicated,
taking inputs from the kickstand, neutral switch and clutch switch.



"And will they ONLY cut off the spark or
won't they also cut off power to the ignition."

Same thing.



"The bike will turn over ."

Oh, yeah, it seems like those interlocks disable the starter too.



When testing the coils, what I don't know is what readings I'm supposed to
get. My manual says to set it at 1K of resistance. Both of my meters only
go
down to 2K."

I think the resistance through the primary windings (low voltage side) is
very low, such that with a 2k meter you would measure essentially zero.
The high side is around 13K, though; you should be able to measure that.
Anyway, haven't you tried two sets of coils?
