Subject : Re: The Janklow Saga
So why don't we all let the judges do all of our thinking for us? After all,
they chose this president we (and the rest of the world) are saddled with.
Let's ignore the fact that certain pharmaceutical companies spend millions to
keep certain laws on the books. Let's get a grip on this people: drug laws are
about money, pure and simple. Same with wars. People were making a lot of noise
about the War on Drugs, saying that the billions spent were wasted. Hey, no
problem! Let's start a War on Terror. Everybody's against terror, right? I mean,
who can argue against that? Does it matter that we created the problem in the
first place? NO! We sheepishly say that we will clean up our own mess.
Overthrow the dictators, squash our ex-buddy Osama. And then we will enact the
Patriot Act, our own little bit of Homeland totalitarianism.

People, we are being manipulated more openly than ever before. Bust the
dopers. Throw them in jail. Let folks careen around in SUV's with cell phones
jammed in their ears. Eating a Big Mac. While putting on mascara and reading the
paper, yelling at the kids or their spouse. THAT'S not actually illegal, is it?
And above all, wave the flag. That will ensure that any detractors are labeled
unpatriotic. After all, that's the worst offense of all any more.
