My '93 1100 does not use any oil even though I use it as a bit of a racer.
The only time oil was used was when I started to tune it. It was running
leaner than a lean thing on the first of leanuary, 19 hundred and leany
lean. Could it be that your bike is running lean and overheating enough to
allow oil past the rings. Jimbo.

Doesn't seem to matter. Currently using Yamalube 4 10-30. But will go to
20W50 for the summer. A cyl leak down test was done and it was "well within
limits" according to dealer. I have taken compression myself and it was 150
both cylinders.
