Here's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

fit is the most important thing with a helmet, even if its a spose to be better quality, it it don't fit right, it don't protect right, thats why Arai makes 3-4 different head shapes

If its not comfortable, it's not safe, its potentially distracting, meaning dangerous, possibly more dangerous than no helmet at all. after all the easiest way to avoid injury is to avoid the accident, it the distraction caused the accident, then the helmet caused ALL the injuries, if you get in one.

I own 4 helmets
an old Bell M2, (DOT, Snell90) its retired, heavy compared to my new helmets but other than weight, it was the most comfortable and quietest helmet I have owned, but it's so worn out, that it's loose & dangerous now.

Arai Signet (DOT, Snell95) this is my winter helmet, and my most comfortable current helmet, arai's are nice, cause you can get cheekpads different thicknesses to make the fit better.

HJC Symax (DOT) this is a flip face, althou it doesn't fit quite as well as the Arai, the convenience of the flip face makes it my favorite helmet, it's a bit drafty for winter, but you can get a snowmobile version the only difference is heated visor and a chin curtain. I also like this helmet cause I don't have to take my glasses off to get it on.

HJC shortie (DOT) I rarely wear this, actually it is only worn when I am in a mood not to wear a helmet at all but the jurisdiction I am riding in requires it

Thank god, I live in a state that does not require helmets for adults, although I wear one 99% of the time, sometimes the purpose of the ride is just to get wind in your face and let your hair flow in the breeze, kinda hard to do that with a helmet on ain't it.
