Didn't properly introduce myself
Names Chris riding a 82 XV920J I Inherited from my Father when he went to
the Big Harley.
Unfortunately in a fit of rabid stupidity i was testing carb setting and
didn't even give it a thought that it was an AIR COOLED ENGINE. I Figure i
fried the works TCI Regulator/Rectifier and possibly the Stators. Well Live
and Learn
I was lurking around here for about 6 months and finally subscribed. I
searched the Archives but couldn't find anything definitive about
interchangeability of the TCI's. There was one article about making a heat
shield but what would be a good material? heat painted metal or a composite?
Thank you for your time and input.
65 degrees in Pittsburgh today and the bike don't run yet after a cold
winter of storage. Does it get better ?(meaning finding the time before
the season starts to do the work of last year?)
