My bike (1995 Virago 1100) uses oil heavily. Seems to ONLY happen when run
freeway speeds (75mph or faster) for extended periods. Gets maybe 60 to 100
miles/qt. Around town there is no apparent oil useage at all. I have looked
for leaks---dry as a pile of old bones. Nor do I see any apparent smoking.
Of course, I don't try to look that hard at 85 mph . . . y'know?
This happened both before and after the top end was rebuilt--- Sucked a
valve due to carbon build-up on stem at about 14,000 miles, has 18,000 now).
I have ordered a harley style crankcase vent (the kind that keeps a slight
vacume on the crankcase).
Does anyone have any suggestions . . . anyone?
