The metal cap is not the resistor. It is just an adaptor for
different types of plug boots. If your plug boot needs the adaptor,
make sure you tighten it with a pair of pliers. Many ignition
problems are caused by the loose adaptor.
A resistor is inside the porcelain, IF you have a resistor plug.
Resistor plugs have an R in the plug designation, as in B7ER instead
of B7E.
