OK Steve,
As I read your info the 4 cylinders is NOT a good marker as it may indicate
anything between an 1100 and 650 , or perhaps, a 550.

Sidecovers gone, so far. Owner keeping it in Mom's garage and all she knows
is license plate is 87 and it is taking up too much space,

Looks kinda like a Virago but  with 4 cyl in a line, straight across bike.

Will try  to contact son for more info - current questions: 1) Is it a good
bike to rebuild; 2) to part out, 3) to ignore.

Never met a person I couldn't learn from.
