I would agree. I have an 82 Maxim with a TCI and last spring in the
middle of a very soggy ride with a bunch of die-hard friends of mine, the
thing went out- partly. It would run, acted like it was not gettting
enough gas-- I had to ride it home that way-- I could get it up to 55 only
at wide open throttle, and after testing everything, it turned out to be
the TCI. To test it, I took it to a friend who had a bike exactly like
mine, took his off, put mine on his bike, and it did the exact same thing.
New from Yamaha?? Yes-- for $400.00. ohhhhh wellll!! some of them can
be repaired, but I dont' know which ones. ---
