Post Production Sr. Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY:
Post production engineering supervisor, responsible for the day to day
maintenance and
support of post production systems that span a wide business line. Editorial,
DVD,
Restoration, Audio, QC, Encoding, Duplication, Conversions, Color Correction
and Asset
Management in all standards and formats from SD, HD, 2K and beyond.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 6 years engineering experience in post production and studio systems
operation
and maintenance.
Editing systems ? Avid Nitris Symphony, Avid Nitris DS, Apple Final Cut Pro
DVD Systems ? SD, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray
Restoration ? MTI, Snell & Wilcox
Audio ? Pro Tools HD post production systems
QC ? SD, HD and Data
Encoding ? DVD compression, SD and HD Encoding in all formats and structures
Duplication/Conversions - Installation, set up and calibration of VTR's, DDR's,
workstations and support equipment
Color Correction ? File based color correction support with migration to DI
Mastering
Operational set up and support for all business lines, create procedures and
documentation to help support and streamline operations
Digital Asset Management systems ? Production network and SAN infrastructure,
archive,
ingest, encryption and data migration support
Routing switchers and support infrastructure.
? Excellent communication skills required as well as ability to create
and work
harmoniously in a team environment
? Self motivator capable and willing to learn and work independently as
well as with the
team
? Skilled in Microsoft Office products
? Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to
handle
multiple tasks that can prioritize while understanding the dynamics of urgency
? Complex analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills while
working under
tight timelines and high-pressure client supervised environments
? Experience preparing and managing technical and operational budgets
? Skilled in working with various CAD or layout programs
? Skilled in the operation, setup and support of Windows, Linux, Irix and
Apple
operating systems
? Working knowledge of MS Access and SQL databases
JOB DESCRIPTION:
? Responsible for post production engineering support and operational
support of the
facility
? Manages daily work of engineering staff in support of the production
and operational
systems
? Organize and manage engineering personnel involved in the design,
implementation,
maintenance and troubleshooting of systems and equipment
? Accountable for maximum production and file delivery efficiency and
high
performance quality of equipment and operating systems
? Recommends the purchase of new equipment as well as replacement parts
as
necessary
? Provides and ensures training for engineering staff and operators
? Performs other duties as required or assigned
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Technology
or Computer
Science and related fields required
? Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background
investigation
SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri, 9:00 ? 6:00 PM (some weekends required)
