I noticed that on a higher end 42" LCD ( I think it's a Sanyo as well) they 
bought for the conference room.  An HD signal looks GREAT, analog signals 
make you want to turn the set OFF.  We had to run bars into the thing when 
we first got it to make it so the picture was even halfway acceptable.
