Here's a new one on me. Maybe I'm not the only one. We had a system crash while
deleting files (Mac MC9000XL 8.6) and were unable to relaunch MC app. We
received an error message saying that it couldn't find the path to the media
databases. Tried deleting media databases, unmounting drives, etc. - nothing
worked. Turns out that there is also a pair of media databases on the local
drive in the application folder in a subfolder labelled Avid_Mediafiles.
Deleting these two did the trick. Never saw this before. Must be a Meridien
thing and my prior expirience has been with Symphony, which seemed to be more
stable. Hope this info helps someone else.

Sincerely,
Oliver
